<p>The door frame consists of two vertical jambs (12) connected by a lintel (13) at the top. It incorporates hinges for a door (18) in the form of flat plates (20A,21A,20B,21B) connected by pivots (29A, 29B). One plate of each hinge is designed to screw onto the top or bottom edge of the door. The other plate is designed to fix to the top or bottom edge of the door jamb. The upper fixed hinge plate (21A) is designed to fit between the jamb and lintel. It is at least partially shaped to conform to the outer surface of the jamb. Each of the moving hinge plates is connected to a fixed one by a section (24A) of the fixed hinge which projects outside the jamb. The frame jambs and lintel can be made from concrete.</p> |
