The lantern body (2) on the one hand and the lantern head (3) on the other hand are provided with components which can work in conjunction with a bearer piece (7), which is part of the bearer arm (1), in order the fit the wall lantern either in an upright standing position or in a hanging position.The body and head components are formed on the one hand on the bearer piece by a flat end (11) which has a deepened part (14) in the direction of the periphery and in which a ring-shaped groove (15) is provided. On the other hand they are formed underneath on the frame (26) of the lantern head by a flat part (28,37) which inwardly ends on a peripheral rib (29,38).
