The table is elliptical and is divided into four parts (A-D) and is opened along two diagonals of the rectangle in which it is inscribed. Two superposed guides guide the parts and insert the leaves (R1,R2,R3,R4) into the gaps between them. One guide has three rods that move on slides between them and the other guide is joined to its central rod. The contour of the table is wavy and so are the joints. The table can be opened simultaneously in both directions by two cables that pass round pulleys.
