PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of an inverting domain which is generated at the end part of a picture element. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal element having transparent electrodes 4a, on which auxiliary electrodes 5a are formed and a dielectric film (innsulating film and orientation) 8 is formed thereon, the difference in level between the transparent electrodes 4a and the auxiliary electrodes 5a become small and the liquid crystal orientating treatment becomes uniform by forming the dielectric film 8 on the transparent electrodes 4a and the auxiliary electrodes 5a so as to keep the film thickness of the dielectric film 8 on the transparent electrodes 4a thicker than the film thickness of the dielectric film 8 on the auxiliary electrodes 5a, and thus the generation of the inverting domain is suppressed. |
