<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate in a short time a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen by a method wherein, when the mixture of oxygen and nitrogen is separated into respective components, it is brought into contact with a selective absorbent to nitrogen within a mixture absorbing area, and a specific mass zeolite is used as the absorbent. SOLUTION: When oxygen is recovered by separating from a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen such as air, the mixture is brought into contact with a nitrogen selective absorbent within an adsorbing area, and mass zeolite which indicates an Si/Al ratio less than 5, 0.38 to 0.60 porosity, and at least 0.5S<-1> parameter aK is used as an adsorbent. The parameter aK represents kinetics of adsorption of nitrogen on the absorbent within the adsorbing area according to a linear driving force model. Further, for the adsorbent, in the case of zeolite containing lithium, the porosity is set up within a range of 0.25 to 0.60, and elion zeolite mass or chabazite mass, or mass zeolite or the like selected from zeolite 5A, 13X, and CaX are preferable.</p> |
