<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To show water-repellent characteristics excellent in wear resistance, scratching resistance, durability and weather resistance by specifying the temperature of a glass substrate and forming a water-repellent film layer in the subject glass forming a water-repellent film on the surface of the glass substrate. SOLUTION: A glass substrate having a film obtained by optionally forming a metal oxide thin film layer on the surface of the substrate on the side to form a water-repellent film layer is heated to 90-200 deg.C, preferably 100-180 deg.C, more preferably 110-160 deg.C. In this state, the surface of the glass substrate is coated with a solution of a water-repellent composed of CF3 (CF2 )7 CH2 CH2 Si(OCH3 )3 and isopropyl alcohol to form a water-repellent film layer (e.g. F-SiO2 ). Preferably flaws are made on the surface of the glass substrate or the surface of the glass substrates with the film and a finely uneven face having about 10-400nm depth is formed and preferably and uneven face is made into a striped face having directionality.</p> |
