PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct specificγcharacteristics and their space distribution while maintaining the frequency band of an image signal in a system high using varieties of image display devices such as a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: Uniformity correction circuits 10, 14 constructed of a multiplier and an adder are arranged in the previous step and the following step of a gradation correcting circuit 13 correcting aγcharacteristic on the basis of linear approximation of multiple point bending by means of analog processing, and correction wave generating circuits 17, 18 feeding uniformity correction waves to both of the uniformity correction circuits 10, 14 are provided. In this circuit constitution, dissimilarly from a conventional CRTVPS complying only with unevenness of a projection system, optional unevenness (a space distribution of theγcharacteristic) due to a display device and the like can be processed. As whole of the device is constructed of the analog circuits, a frequency band for the picture signal can be increased to one hundred and several dozens MHz approximately.
