PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal storage agent excellent in efficiency of thermal storage properties and improved safety. SOLUTION: The granular oily gel body 1 having unit volume of >=0.01cm<3> , is obtained by carrying out the absorption and swelling of an oily material having thermal storage properties on an oil absorbing resin. In the thermal storage agent 2 the prescribed individual granular oily gel body 1 mutually contacts with each other having individual boundary allowing the to form air spaces between individual granular oily gel body 1. This air space is capable of suppressing the seepage of the lily substance because the volume change observed at the freezing and melting of the oily substance is modified. Accordingly the seepage or the fluidization of the oily substance is inhibited, the flammability and flame spreading in fire disaster is remarkably decreased. This oily substance is free from super cooling, the thermal storage efficiency is excellent because the phase change from liquid phase to solid phase is carried out in a short time. |
