PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bilingual image forming device which is capable of accurately recognizing an original and accurately outputting an original word and reduces the processing speed of plotting, equivalent retrieval, etc., by a memory of a small capacity. SOLUTION: Image information read by an image reading means is stored in an image storing means by compressing by a read image information compressing means. In an image processing means 112, a character is recognized from read image information by a character recognizing means 342, a word by a first language is extracted from the recognized character string by a word extracting means 342, an equivalent to the extracted word is obtained by retrieving an equivalent storing means, and the retrieved equivalent is outputted to an image recording means with a corresponding word by an output image generating means 344 according to image information in the image storing means, which is defrosted by a read image information defrosting means. |
