PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical transmitter with a simple structure with a few number of parts besides being small-sized at low cost with little fluctuations in an optical output and optical consumption. SOLUTION: The temperature detected by a temperature detector 3 arranged directly near a semiconductor laser 2 regulates an output current amplitude of a laser driving circuit 4 and a biased current of a bias part 7. As the temperature increases, the threshold value current of the semiconductor laser becomes great and the slope efficiency lowers and therefore the temperature increases, the output current amplitude and the biased current becomes large. Thereby, even in the case where the semiconductor laser 2 and the laser driving circuit are independently mounted, the fluctuations of an optical output and an optical consumption ratio can be suppressed. |
