摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance thermoelectric conversion efficiency by a method wherein Zr is added toβ-FeSi2 thermoelectric material. SOLUTION: Fe1-x Zrx Si2 (0<=x<=0.18) is composed by weighing the powder of raw material Fem Si and Zr. First, Fe powder and Si powder are mixed, the mixture is pressure-molded and a molded body is formed. Then, the molded body is arc-fused (#10), the above-mentioned composition is homogenized and deoxidized, and an ingot is formed. Then, the ingot is pulverized (#15) by an iron mortar, they are passed through a sieve, and Fe1-x Si2 powder is formed. Then, the Fe1-x Si2 powder and the Zr porder are mixed in a globe box in an Ar atmosphere, and the mixture is mechanically alloyed (#25). Then, using a carbon dice for the purpose of preventing the effect of oxygen, the mixed powder is sintered (#30) by hot pressing in a vacuum atmosphere, and the thermoelectric material, havingβ-phase, is formed.
