PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinyl chloride resin compsn. which gives an article generating a reduced amt. of hydrogen chloride during combustion, is excellent in productivity, and can be in the form of a paste. SOLUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin with at least 10 pts.wt. calcium carbonate having an average particle size of 0.1μm or higher and 0.1-10 pts.wt. cobalt compd. (e.g. cobalt carbonate) and/or nickel compd. (e.g. nickel carbonate). Adding lithium carbonate to the compsn. further enhances the effect on reducing the amt. of hydrogen chloride generated during combustion.
