MANUFACTURE RARE EARTH-IRON-BORON MAGNET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the max. energy product BHmax of a bulk magnet. SOLUTION: The manufacturing process comprises orienting a rare earth-iron- boron magnet powder in a magnetic field, compacting it and feeding a current to it to form a rare earth-iron-boron magnet. Before orienting the magnet powder, the powder is pulverized to form new end faces, or/and adding a fatty acid or its metal salt to the powder to improve the orientation of the powder and raise the vol. ratio of the powder with suppressing the damage to the powder and disturbance of the orientation, thereby raising the residual flux density and max. energy product BHmax.
