摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe an easily visible stereoscopic image by separating right and left stripe picture elements in an observation area which is wide in an up-and-down direction by converting a luminous flux into a nearly parallel luminous flux at a horizontal cross section and a condensed light flux nearly condensed at a perpendicular cross section. SOLUTION: The right and left stripe picture elements are viewed by both eyes of an observer by being separated in a horizontal direction. Thus, a mask substrate 7 is illuminated by a back light 10, and light is emitted from an aperture 8. A first lenticular lens 3 is arranged on the side of the observer of the mask substrate 7, and lens curvature is designed so as to make a mask pattern 9 at the nearly focal position of each cylindrical lens. The luminous flux emitted from one point on the aperture 8 is transmitted through a microoptical element 3H at the inside of the cross section, so that it is converted into the nearly parallel luminous flux. The luminous flux emitted from one point on the aperture of the mask pattern 9 is converted into the condensed light flux nearly condensed on a display device 6 from the microoptical element 3H at the inside of the perpendicular cross section at the observation area in the up-and-down direction.
