PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of providing appropriate transfer bias in a transfer device based on a constant current bias system. SOLUTION: In this image forming device 2, a transfer bias current supplied to a transfer roller 16 by a transfer bias generation circuit 108 is set to a fixed value by a constant-current transformer 108a. The magnitude of the transfer bias current supplied from the transformer 108a to the transfer roller 16 is always monitored by a current detection circuit 108b. When the resistance value of the ion conductive elastic body of the roller 16 is increased by supplying a transfer bias current to the roller 16, and the magnitude of the transfer bias current is decreased to a current value which has the possibility of causing faulty transfer, a CPU 100 is informed of the current value from the detection circuit 108b, whereby the image forming operation of the device is stopped. Therefore, an undesired faulty transfer image is prevented from being formed. |
