PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the mechanical strength of a laminated ceramic electronic device, typically a layered ceramic capacitor. SOLUTION: A ceramic laminate 1 has regions 9, 10 at least 50μm inwards from the outer surfaces 7, 8 of the ends in its laminating direction in which deformed crystal grains 11, each having different diameters in some directions exist. The mean value of b/a over all the grains 11 is set so that 0.3<=b/a<=0.6 where a and b are the longest and shorted diameters of each grain 11 and proportion occupied by the grains 11 per unit area at an observation plane is 60% or more.
