PRODUCTION OF NEW SYNTHETIC YARN AND NEW SYNTHETIC YARN OBTAINED THEREBY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a new synthetic yarn excellent in touch feeling and gloss and having excellent physical properties such as coloring property and hygroscopic property by modifying a synthetic fiber yarn with a solvent and obtain the new synthetic yarn. SOLUTION: A synthetic fiber yarn obtained by doubling many monofilaments is washed with water and dried while drawing the yarn at a definite rate and the surface of the synthetic fiber yarn after finishing drying is treated with a treating agent obtained by mixing a metal salt with an alcohol and as necessary, a functional additive and the surface of the monofilaments is slightly melted and then fused to integrate the monofilaments. Thereby, space parts are formed among monofilaments to afford a synthetic fiber yarn kept in a state in which a functional additive is packed or applied in gel state in the space part or on the filament surface. The synthetic fiber yarn is washed with water, dried and wound.
