The invention concerns a carrier arrangement for transporting loads particularly in terrain. In this carrier arrangement, the load is loose from the body and moves freely, and the carrier can move with less obstruction. The invention is based on the fact that the devices which carry the load in the vertical direction are arranged to run through a stiff support device arranged under the level of the elbows in such a way that the load at the end of the carrier device comes to lie further out from the width of the body in the lateral direction and under the level of the elbows. The arrangement comprises a harness with back and chest supports, by means of which the load is transferred from the shoulders to the upper part of the chest and back. <IMAGE>
