The invention relates to an electric lamp with an uncemented base for fitting in a reflector having an aperture (17a) in the reflector wall (17) forming the lamp holder. The lamp has a metal/plastic base which has a metal socket (13) secured to the metal holder (12) and a plastic base (14) fitted with the lamp's electrical connections (15) in which the socket (13) is secured. The lamp base has several reference projections (14a) lying in one plane to secure the lamp in the correct position. According to the invention, the plastic reference projections (14a) are covered by metal strips (13b) to shield the reference projections (14a) from the electromagnetic radiation generated by the lamp, or the reference projections are of metal.
