PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for alignment operation and make an optical passive device small-sized, multifunctional, and low-priced by providing one optical fiber embedding part which is formed on a substrate, >=1 groove for cutting an optical fiber at a specific angle to the optical axis of the optical fiber at a specific part of the optical fiber embedded in the embedding part, and an optical passive element which is inserted and fixed in the groove. SOLUTION: The groove 2 as the optical fiber embedding part for embedding the optical fiber 4 and a groove 3 for embedding the optical fiber 7 for reflected light propagation are formed on the substrate 1. The groove 5 for cutting the optical fiber 4 at the specific angle to the optical axis of the optical fiber 4 is formed and the optical passing element 6 is inserted and fixed in the groove 5; and the optical fiber 7 for reflected light propagation is arranged at the light reflection angle position of the optical passive element 6 and the optical fiber 4, optical passive element 6, and optical fiber 7 for reflected light propagation are covered with a protection member. Consequently, the respective parts which are optical fibers 4, 7 and optical passive element 6 are formed on the substrate 1 to make the device small-sized and multifunctional and eliminate the need for optical axis alignment. |
