PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for improving the characteristic of a power converting apparatus in which at least two sets of externally excited power converters are connected in parallel via a DC intermediate reactor. SOLUTION: Saturation of a power regulator 103 is prevented and a voltage command value as an output of the power regulator 103 is divided with a current command lower limit value to provide a new voltage command value by limiting a limit of output of a power setting device 101 and output of the power regulator 103 with a product of the power flow command forward direction upper limit value and voltage command forward direction upper limit value and with a product of the power flow command backward direction upper limit value and the voltage command backward direction upper limit value. When a current command value as an output of the power regulator 103 is positive, a value obtained by dividing the command value with the power flow command forward direction upper limit value and when the current command value is negative, a value obtained by dividing the command value with the power flow command backward direction upper limit value are respectively defined as the new current command value. |
