Disclosed is a tape pad which is accommodated in a video cassette so as to guide a tape when the tape is running and a method for manufacturing the same. The tape pad can be made without using Tefron which is expensive so that the manufacturing cost is down about 30%. The method comprises the steps of slitting a roll type PET film(5), forming a carbon coating layer(10) on a surface of PET film(5), attaching an adhesive(11) on a surface which is opposite to carbon coating layer(10), forming a hole(9) on a surface of PET film(5) in which carbon coating layer(10) is formed, forming an inserting piece(12) which is inserted into a molding member(7), and forming a attaching means for fixing PET film(5) to molding member(7) on the surface which is opposite to carbon coating layer(10).
