<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate inter-field low frequency noise in data obtained by decoding image data subjected to DCT coding with an inexpensive configuration. SOLUTION: A decoded luminance signal is fed to a subtractor 24, in which a noise component is eliminated. An interleave circuit 25 decimates the decoded luminance signal at a rate of 1/4. A subtractor circuit 26 subtracts an output of a field memory 28 from an output of the decimation circuit 25 and a subtraction output is fed to a nonlinear limiter 29. A noise component extracted by the nonlinear limiter 29 is subtracted from the output of the decimation circuit 25 at a subtractor 27 and a subtractor output is given to the field memory 28. An interpolation circuit 30 interpolates the extracted noise component into the original rate and an interpolation output is fed to the subtractor 24. The subtractor 24 eliminates the noise component from data of a main line group.</p> |
