PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically inspect a thickness of a plastic hollow cylinder even if a body is not cylindrical. SOLUTION: A plastic hollow cylinder 13 is subjected to revolution without rotation, and a side wall opposite to the center of the revolution with respect to an axial center of the cylinder 13 is pressed by a presser 19a which can elastically reciprocate of a position fixed displacement gage 19. A revolution angleθof the cylinder 13 with respect to the center of the revolution is measured during pressing, while a moved amount (d) of the presser 19a is measured simultaneously, and inspection is done based on difference in moved amounts d1, d2 of the presser respectively corresponding to an initial revolution angleθ1 and a final revolution angleθ2 during a predetermined period during pressing.
