<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with which remaining character strings are estimated and all the character strings can be outputted as the recognized result only by handwriting and inputting the character to become a key. SOLUTION: This character recognizing device is provided with a word dictionary a6 for hierarchizing plural words and storing word identification information for identifying the respective words and hierarchical information, character transition probability table a4 storing the probability of transition from a certain character to the other character and the word identification information corresponding to the combination of characters in that transient relation, and optimizing part a5 for optimizing the candidate character string provided by the recognizing means while using this character transition probability table. Based on the word identification information corresponding to the optimized candidate character string, the word dictionary is retrieved, and the non-input word corresponding to the hierarchical information is extracted.</p> |
