The invention is from the field of plants for water cooling by direct contact with the atmospheric air, making possible their foundation on a weak terrain, rugged terrain or on existent basin constructions or water settlers. The main elements of the plant consist of diaphragm walls of one or at most two types, starting from which the whole resistance structure of the atmospheric cooling plant is constructed. The components of the cooling plant are mounted in two directions and constitute a cassette-type construction, thus allowing the production of independent functional compartments, and which also constitute the walls that diminish the effect of the wind upon the aerodynamics of the plant. The cooling plant consists of an open type of cooler to which a draught chimney is added, with extension possibilities by addition of new spans and it solves the supply of cooling water in closed circuit for plants corresponding to forging furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, compressors, synchronous compensators and other technological plants.
