The invention refers to a variable distribution mechanism for thermal engines intended for the optimisation of the gas exchange of spark ignition thermal engines. The variable distribution mechanism for thermal engines consists of a camshaft [1] mounted in a cylinder head [2]. The modification of the opening moments is achieved through by means of a peg guidance [3] concentric with the camshaft [1]. On an axle [18] arms with rolls [19,20] are fixed, the permanent contact between the guidance [3] and the rolls [20] being assured by helical compression springs [25].
