The container has a housing (1) with a movable rear wall (4) forming an emptying opening and an opposed front wall (11) with an opening (14) having, to the right of the opening, a tub (20) which has compactors for the waste inside the housing. The tub is movable between a charging position in which it projects from the rear opening and a compacting position in which it seats inside the container across the opening. The tub is articulated to the housing by an axis (21) adjacent to the lower edge (15) of the charging opening.
