PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output the motive power outputted from a prime mover to a drive shaft with high efficiency. SOLUTION: A motive power output device is equipped with a crank shaft 156 of an engine 150 at its planetary carrier, a motor MG1 at its sun gear, and a planetary gear 120 coupled with a motor MG2 at its ring gear. A controller 180 converts the motive power outputted from an engine 150 into torque and output it to a motive power transmitting gear 111 coupled mechanically with the ring gear, by driving a motor MG2 by the power regenerated by the motor MG1 and driving the motor MG1 by the power regenerated by the motor MG2, based on the gear ratio of the sun gear to the ring gear of the planetary gear MG1. The engine 150 can be made the most efficient point possible, because it can be driven at any operation point so long as it can output energy to be outputted to the side of the ring gear. As a result, the motive power can be outputted efficiently. |
