PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a foreign matter being a display obstacle from entering by setting narrow width being a distance between the side end part of a liquid crystal panel and the part of a frame or an illumination device faced to the side end part so that it becomes equal to or under the size of the foreign matter being the display obstacle. SOLUTION: The side end part 1a of the liquid crystal panel 1 forming the circumference of the place of the panel 1 brought into contact with the illumination device 2 side is covered with the frame 3 formed of an identical construction material to the illumination device 2 in a proximate state or a contact state. Then, the distance between the side end part 1a of the panel 1 and the part of the frame 3 faced to the side end part 1a is disposed so that the narrow widthΔt satisfies a condition shown by the expression ofΔt<=3×d. Provided that, (d) is the maximum diagonal width of the unit pixel of the panel 1. Therefore, such a case that the foreign matter being the display obstacle is passed through a gap between the side end part 1a of the panel 1 and the part of the frame 3 faced to the side end part 1a is suppressed to the minimum.
