<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the skeleton of an active material strong and lengthen the cycle life by overdischarging a lead-acid battery after manufacturing, letting it stand, then conducting recovering charging before completion. SOLUTION: A lead-acid battery is overdischarged after manufacturing and let to stand. By this process, an active material is converted into lead sulfate, the concentration of sulfuric acid in an electrolyte is decreased, and dissolution and deposition of the lead sulfate are repeated, and thereby, adhesion between active materials and that between a grid and active material interface are increased, and the skeleton of the active material is strengthened. After that, by conducting recovery charging, the cycle life of the battery is lengthened.</p> |
