The closed spiral cable has a core wire (2) and one or more wire layers (3-5) and at least one outer wire layer (6,7) with wires in a Z-shape cross section. At least one of the wire layers (4,5) can be given a plastic distortion and be compressed. Also claimed is a production process where the wire layers (4,5) are distorted during cable twisting.
