<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of the coordinate reader or coordinate read system. SOLUTION: A detection line 13 is laid at a sensor line part of a tablet 1. When a coordinate indicator 2 which produces a magnetic field is put close to the tablet 1, an induced signal is generated on the detection line 13. A coordinate indicator detecting circuit 15 detects the approach of the coordinate indicator with the induced signal and outputs its detection signal s3 to a tablet control circuit 16. Consequently, the tablet control circuit 16 places a coordinate calculating circuit 14 in operation mode, so a coordinate value is detected thereafter when the coordinate indicator 2 is on the tablet 1. When the coordinate indicator 2 is put away from the tablet 1, the coordinate calculating circuit 14 enters low-power-consumption mode under the control of the tablet control circuit 16.</p> |
