SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL AND ITS PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the photosensitive material capable of forming an excellent silver color tone and reducing residual silver and obtaining maximum density even in the case of rapid processing and low replenishing by incorporating specified silver halide grains spectrally sensitized with a specified sensitizing dye and a specified silver halide solvent in a silver halide emulsion layer and/or a nonphotosensitive colloidal layer on the same side of a support. SOLUTION: The photosensitive material has the silver halide emulsion layer and the nonphotosensitive colloidal layer on one side of the support and a nonphotosensitive colloidal layer containing a dye on the other side of the support. The silver halide emulsion layer contains the silver halide grains having an average grain diameter of 0.080-0.25μm and a silver iodide content of <=0.5mol% and normal crystal forms and the grains are spectrally sensitized with the spectral sensitizing dye represented by the formula in which each of Z<1> and Z<2> is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form a bensothiazole or benaoselenazole ring or the like; each of R<1> and R<2> is a lower alkyl group; X is an anion; and (n) 1 or 2. The emulsion layer and/or the nonphotosensitive colloidal layer on the sane side contains the silver halide solvent.
