The method is for grinding glass spectacle lenses, in order to re-touch the shape of the lens. The pre- shaped lenses ready to be mounted in the frames are touched up or re-shaped in order to finally fit into the frames, particularly metal frames, without producing any stresses in the glass or frame. Once the shape of the lens is fixed, the shape serves as a reference for the appropriate grinding and fitting of the lens into the frame. The basic shape is fixed by means of a simple glass cup which is then used to form the pattern for grinding the actual lens to the required shape.
