The cap (4) for a container (1) with a reducer (2) has an eccentric outlet (9) which is aligned with an aperture in the reducer when the cap is rotated to dispense a product from the container and offset from the aperture to close it. The inner surface of the top (5) of the cap has a seal (10) equipped with or in the form of a membrane (11) with slits located beneath the outlet (9). The reducer has two projecting ducts (12,13) which are offset with the same eccentricity as the outlet in the cap, one duct having an open end while the other is closed. The outer surface of the cap has a marker (16) which is aligned with symbols indicating whether the cap is open or closed. In the open position the container is connected through the open-ended duct and the slitted membrane to the outlet in the cap, while in the closed position the close-ended duct is in line with the outlet and the product is sealed from the outside atmosphere.
