PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the terminal equipment to be connected to any of base stations of a plurality of common carriers. SOLUTION: At out of synchronism with a control channel, a microcomputer of the PHS is set to a reception state of the control channel for a period W2 at every time interval of t1 (6sec) (ST45, ST49). In this case, the common carriers are sequentially, repetitively and automatically selected according to the priority N set by the operation of a key entry part of the user (ST41, ST42, ST50, ST51). Then a control channel sent from a base station of a selected carrier is received by the PHS, the synchronization with the control channel is set up and the position is registered to the base station thereafter and the PHS is transited to the standby state (ST47, ST52, ST53). Thus, the PHS is able to be connected to any base station of any carrier. Or the carriers are selected not automatically but manually though the operation of the key entry section of the user. |
