摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold an active material use rate high and elongate the life of a storage battery by fixing tin dioxide powder in a paste active material layer, whose major material is lead powder, in such a state as biting therein and tightly bonding the most of the tin dioxide to the lead powder. SOLUTION: An active material paste is formed with active material power which is so obtained that tin dioxide collided with lead powder composed of lead compound of lead, lead monoxide, etc., at high speed by a high-speed flow impact method is made to bite in the surface part of the lead powder. Tin powder or tin compound powder, which are oxidated to become tin dioxide, can be used as substitute for the tin dioxide powder. The both of them are thus closely bonded together to enlarge their contact area so that the conductivity inside the positive active material layer is enhanced, while pulverization ofβ-type lead dioxide is effectively suppressed. Preferably, the tin in the tin dioxide powder is set to 0.01-5.0mol% in relation to the lead contained in the paste active material layer. It is preferable that the particle diameter of the lead powder.
