PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and exactly recognize a writer based on a change in the density of lines consisting of a written character caused by strong/weak pen pressure. SOLUTION: Concerning an image reader, image data are segmented by setting an area 2 from the image data of a read original (s2 and s3), the image data of a small area 3 having a line size (d) set from the image data of the area 2 as one side are segmented (s5), a ratio in the small area 3 is calculated by counting the number of black dots in the segmented small area 3 (s6 and s7), and the average of ratios concerning all the small areas 3, where the dots exist, in the area 2 is calculated as a feature amount (s8). Corresponding to the calculated feature amount, a writer list is retrieved (s9) and when there is a relevant writer, the instruction input of action of a printer part due to the operation of a print switch is set on standby (s10→s11) but when there is no relevant writer, the action of the printer part is inhibited (s10→s12).
