MULTIMEDIA INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING SAME

A multimedia information management system (100) is provided for interaction between real-time multimedia information and stored multimedia information. The multimedia communications system includes a radio frequency (RF) receiver (101) for receiving real-time multimedia information such as television and radio. A cable interface (103) is used for providing access to electronically stored multimedia information either locally or through cable access. A processor system (107) and data buffer (109) are used to compare and process user-selected topic information with the real-time information stored in the data buffer (109). Based on this comparision, a query is formulated by the processor (107) and electronically stored multimedia information is searched to provide any information related to the user-selected topics to the user in a timely manner.
