The invention discloses a method for correcting a lens (2) optical aberration by the deposit of a coating (3) on at least one of the lens (2) surfaces. The method consists of varying the composition of the said coating (3) according to thickness by using at least two optical materials with different refraction indices and different dispersion coefficients, the proportions thereof being mutually varied during deposition and shaping (12) the said coating to give it a lens shape. The invention is useful in the production of lenses.
