The invention concerns a method and device for grinding camshaft cams having concave flanks using a grinding disc (3) which has a relatively small diameter and is used at least for finish grinding. The grinding disc axis runs obliquely to the camshaft longitudinal axis (2), and the grinding disc is aligned at the same angle. In order to attain a perfect running surface, the grinding disc is followed along an advance axis (Y) extending perpendicular to the feed axis (X), namely as a function of the rotational position of the camshaft and the positioning on the feed axis.
