Applying coatings to floors

Process for applying coatings to floors comprises: (a) reacting a known mastic based on Portland cement, aluminous cement, and CaSo4 (`mortar group K') suitable for forming an ettringite phase, with 0.15-1 wt.% 2,3,4,5- tetrahydroxyadipic acid as liquefier and 0.5-5 wt.% short polyester fibres having a conically decreasing diameter; (b) making up the mixture with water; (c) applying to the floor; (d) leaving to dry; (e) applying an aqueous synthetic resin dispersion based on natural resin ester and/or artificial resins as adhesion former containing not more than 15% and emulsifier foundation based on sulphated and/or sulphonated hydroxy octadecenoic acids and/or their high molecular triglycerides in an amount of 1-5 wt.%, where the adhesion former can be neutralised up to a pH of 4-10; and (f) bedding the coating.
