摘要 <p>The method operates on the driving clutch (7) within the electrohydraulically operable automatic transmission (2) so as to avoid vibration when the vehicle is stationary. A set-point for the critical torque is computed with additional dependence on an evaluation of the road speed profile in the immediate past (e.g. the last 10 minutes). The controller (20) responds to signals from sensors of engine speed (30) and transmission ratio selection (31), and from switches associated with the handbrake (32), bonnet (33), driving seat (34) and doors (35). The set-point can also be entered manually from a potentiometer or equivalent (36).</p>
