<p>A cutting mechanism for a receipt-printing machine, which has paper dispensed from a paper supply roll, the cutting mechanism having a "v"-shaped, guillotine blade (40). The blade is driven via a blade holder (42) against a stationary blade (72). There is a blade guide (74) which has side mountings (78) for guiding at least one end tab (43) of the guillotine blade into perpendicular contact with the paper web. The guillotine blade is driven through the blade guide by a drive cam (50), which rotatively engages the blade holder. The cam is driven by a motor-driven gear train that has a timing gear (28) for timing the occurrence of web cutting. The guillotine blade retracts from the blade guide under the influence of spring biasing.</p> |
