Recombinant Aspergillus lysophospholipase (LPL) DNA (I) having the 3650 bp nucleic acid sequence given in the specification, is claimed. Also claimed are: (1) vector comprising: (a) DNA sequences for its replication in E. coli; (b) DNA sequences for the expression and secretion of a polypeptide in an Aspergillus spp. or Trichoderma reesei, i.e. a promoter, signal peptide encoding sequence and optional terminator; and (c) (I) operably linked to the DNA sequences of (b); (2) Aspergillus or Trichoderma reesei host cell transformed with the vector; (3) enzyme product for improving the filtration properties of starch hydrolysates, comprising a LPL produced by recombinant Aspergillus spp. or T. reesei; and (4) maltose syrup filtrate obtained using the enzyme product. |
