Calorific value boiler for heating process water and for space heating

The calorific value boiler (1) consists of a combustion chamber (2) and hot gas flues as downstream heating surface (3) with water chamber (4) surrounding it. A water/water heat exchanger (13) is provided in the chamber in the region of the heating surface to lower the heating water temperature level and to preheat cold water entering a water storage tank. Preferably the heat exchanger is installed in the zone of calorific value utilisation as a finned tube coil or is formed by a double-shell outer boundary wall for the water chamber.
