<p>The present invention relates to automotive construction and more precisely to an anti-skid spike for the wheels of vehicles used in winter time, particularly on low-adhesion road surfaces. This spike comprises a body in the form of one or more inserts with a support flange, as well as a hollow central stem with a support flange and a wear-resistant head part mounted in the cavity of said stem. The stem is securely fixed in the insert of the body while the wear-resistant head part is mounted in the hollow central stem with a support flange. The body may also consist of two inserts concentrically mounted onto the stem in a fixed position relative to each other. The body or a part thereof may be made of resin or plastic. In another variant, the body, a part thereof or the hollow stem may be made of sheet metal using deep-drawing techniques.</p> |
