The motor vehicle instrument display has a housing (60), an elongated indicator board (10a) fixed to the housing, a light source (10b), a light conducting plate (10c), behind the indicator board, and a reflector (10d). The light conductor plate has a light input surface adjacent to the light source. The reflector (10d) reflects light from the conductor plate and is made of two parts, one for detachable fixing of the light source and the second (17c) for detachable fixing of the housing. The light source is a tube type lamp (10b) and has a heater and thermistor for its regulation. A long channel is provided for housing of the reflector.
