The arm is used to hold a windscreen wiper blade on a vehicle. At the point (21) connecting the link section (11) to the wiper rod (10), the edges of the sidewalls (20) of the link section have teeth formed in such a way that in alternating fashion one tooth of one sidewall engages in a tooth space (23) of the other sidewall, to convert a U-section into a closed tube. The teeth and tooth spaces may be rectangular, trapezoidal or curved in form. The toothed edges of the sidewalls of the link section are located on the wiper rod side facing the windscreen for wiping.
